George is one amazing nurse and human. My sister, who passed away in 2013 at the age of 35 was a patient of George's for her 4-year journey with Breast Cancer. From the moment we met George my sister knew this was a nurse sent to her from above. My sister was one amazing fun magnetic person and she met her equal in George and they took on her journey together. My sister would dress to the nines for her chemo appointments and the shoes everyone could tell you about her amazing shoes. She used to say if I dress blah I will feel blah (she used more lively words, but I will spare the email submission of them). George would match her energy and take it to the next level. We would laugh, we would dare I say, enjoy the chemo appointments with George. It was a highlight of her treatments and appointments. In what was an unfortunate circumstance, George took the worry and stress out of what was happening and THAT is the sign of a great nurse and human. He was there for the struggles and the heartbreaks and setbacks. He was there for the triumphs as well. He was also there to take her mind off it and help her refocus and forget for a little while all while chemicals essentially are flowing through her. That is the work of a great clinician. George was there when we heard she was in the process of leaving this world. He came to see her and offer her comfort and support. She held onto him and knew he was there. A great person, human, and friend to her. I know she felt lucky and blessed to have him as her nurse and as a family member, we did too! He became family to us. Whenever I see George, which isn't very often anymore, he is always there for a hug and a warm hello that warms your soul. I am so happy other patients get to experience and enjoy the light in the dark that is George.

George has made all the difference in the world during my 7+ years of cancer treatment. He is kind caring and compassionate about all his patients. This is a long and difficult journey that we have been on. George goes above and beyond to make sure that we are comfortable during our time here. Even when difficult circumstances are beyond his control, he attempts to make sure that we have everything we need. He goes out of his way to connect with myself and my family on a personal as well as a clinical level. I could not do this without him! And I would not want to.

I'm exceedingly satisfied with your professionalism and commitment to excellent nursing care with your patients. For being so compassionate, making them feel like they're not even in a hospital. Getting them flowers, you go all out for your patients. Your hard work does not go unnoticed. Thank you, again, for everything.
