David Owens is a huge asset to the ER department and CT in particular. I have seen him go above and beyond when caring for his patients within CT. He truly cares about his patients and exercises more patience with them than most. When we need lifting help or have a critical patient coming to CT he jumps to help before we even ask. David routinely helps with IVs when others have not been successful.
Recently we had a challenged behavioral health patient who needed a CT; David went above and beyond with bringing the patient to CT and assisting us with getting the exam done. David's communication skills are excellent between departments, and when there is a new RN in the ER he will bring them to our department and introduce everyone as well as familiarize them with our rooms and the code stroke process.
David also gives CT a "double heads-up" on any possible code stroke coming in VIA medic. This is very helpful to allow us extra time to set up the room, check for allergies, order contrast and etc. He is always very positive and pleasant. We all truly appreciate him and enjoy working with him!
