Kim embodies everything a great nurse should and sets an extremely high standard for all who are fortunate to be cared for by her. Kim has been an RN at United for over 20 years. She has seen it all and is recognized daily for the excellent care that she gives her patients.
Kim is passionate about excellent patient care. She helps with bed baths and answers every call light. She listens, she educates, she understands, and she treats every one of her patients like they are a member of her own family and like they're her only patient.
Kim is an RN that our other 4500 DAISY Award Honorees look up to, and they say that! When I round on employees, Kim's name is always brought up as someone I can recognize. She is recognized for being approachable, always willing to answer questions, and being a resource for those who seek her wisdom. She embodies excellent teamwork and excellent patient care.
Kim's patients always share how she goes "above and beyond" when she is their nurse. Her oncology patients receiving chemo consistently mention how competent she is, making them feel at ease when they are going through such a scary time. Kim develops strong relationships with our patients, especially the ones who come back for recurrent chemotherapy. She is efficient, kind, and encouraging to the patients who struggle to make it through their days. She recognizes how valuable her advocacy is for those who need extra care, attention, and have unique, individualized needs.
