We had a patient who had just started hospice during her stay with us. She often expressed to the staff and family that she did not want to be alone. The patient's family were given a chance to say goodbye but were not able to spend the night with her. Adrian was able to sit with her and be with the patient as she passed. He ensured her final wishes were followed by not leaving her alone and he provided compassionate care for her all night. In addition, after he had finished his shift and clocked-out he went to the chapel to offer comfort to the family there. Adrian is always exemplifying DAISY qualities, advocating for patients, and showing empathetic and compassionate care.
