Megan demonstrated the utmost compassionate care recently with a family going through the most difficult time of their lives. A father had to decide whether or not to withdraw care on his premature twins. Megan really connected with the father and showed him extreme compassion during this difficult time in his life. She sat with him while he cried and patiently answered every one of his questions and addressed concerns. She offered every service to him that BEMC had to offer. Megan volunteered to work extra shifts to provide continuity of care for the family during an unimaginable situation because of the bond that she had formed with them. The father was extremely grateful for Megan and the care and compassion she provided him and his family. I was in awe of the kindness and compassion Megan demonstrated as she cared for this family, she went above and beyond and embodied the definition of compassionate care.
