Mike Woznuk has a unique leadership ability to connect with people and maintain the leadership presence. Mike exudes positivity and control and continues to build a great team for the patients and the organization. The respect he is shown by not just by his peers but his subordinates exemplify his character. I accompanied Mike to a meeting at South and countless people asked 'Are you coming back?' I glared at some. He's NOT leaving the beach. I could continue with example after example and it would still not paint an accurate depiction of Mike and his person. The beach facility is full of great people. That's what makes us stand out in the Baptist System.

I have worked for Baptist for 10 years and Mike is by far the best boss I've ever worked for. Not only is he approachable, he cares about the wellbeing and happiness of his staff. He pitches in, cleans rooms, takes patients, transports patients, triages, starts IVs, and does it whenever is needed. He is extremely intelligent, experienced, and knows how to efficiently run the emergency room. When a problem arises, he listens without judgment, and always tries to find a solution that is fair and in the best interest of those around him. While I'm moving on to a new career, I will really miss his leadership. My new boss has big shoes to fill. Thank you Mike for everything you do for this emergency room.

Mike has been sick the last several days, but still came into work the day after Christmas. The ER was short-staffed, so he happily assisted on his own volition; he even stocked linens. Every shift, no matter how busy he may be with administrative tasks, he makes the time to check on each of his team members. He always comes to work with a positive attitude and ready to lend a helping hand. He never hesitates to proactively take on the roles of charging, triaging, transporting, stocking, cleaning, toileting, medicating, and most of all caring.
A recent instance that comes to mind is a shift I worked in late November or early December, during which I had 3 ICU patients simultaneously. I accompanied one of these patients to CT because they were hemodynamically unstable, receiving emergent blood, and actively vomiting - all while struggling with adequate IV access. Mike, in his white coat and with a smile, met me over in CT to take over the patient who was covered in blood. He stayed with him in CT, transported the patient back to the ER, and later transported the patient up to the ICU. That is just one instance of how he is a phenomenal leader, all while empowering others to be leaders, too.
