Due to the COVID-19 Virus, I wasn't allowed to have a support person come inside the hospital with me. I was ok with that but nerves still set in a little and I anticipated being alone as I waited for surgery.
Heather came in and was my nurse that morning. She eased all the nerves I had and made me so comfortable with being there alone. Heather made me feel that I wasn't alone during this surgery prep and I owe her so much by her just making things more relaxed.
I want to nominate her for being an AWESOME nurse and hero during this crazy time when patients aren't allowed to bring a person for support and for her standing in and being that support system needed.
I also want Heather to be noticed for her compassion and making me feel more like a friend instead of just another patient in the books. I can never put it into words just how much it meant to me to have Heather as my nurse and my Hero during this time.
Heather, if you get to read this, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing what you do to make your patients feel comfortable and put them at ease. It's much more important at this time when patients aren't allowed to bring a support person with them and you became the support person for me.
And last but not least, that Sierra Mist right after surgery touched my soul.
You are the definition of a true Hero standing on the front line.
