Melanie has compassion for nursing and health care overall. She also works in the Physical Therapy Department as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Melanie is known throughout the hospital for her compassion and energy while giving her patients the utmost care. She is always courteous and helpful to others. Melanie is seen as a very positive person, someone who exhibits a "win-win" situation for patients and their families. She's always striving for excellence in everything she does but especially in problem-solving when it comes to getting patients' scheduled for a procedure and keeping co-workers happy. Melanie is efficient in what she does and she does her job in a timely manner. She is a great mentor to students who follow her and role model to those who work alongside her.
Melanie's compassion for others is exhibited throughout the hospital, community, and family. I have seen Melanie go above and beyond to see that patients are taken care of along with their family members all while she skips lunch or stays over to get whatever it is that needs to be done. She always has time for her UVMC family.
I am proud of Melanie for all of the hard work that she exhibits on a daily basis with a smile on her face and an uplifting attitude. I am blessed to work alongside such a positive influence. She has high standards of professionalism, never ending diligence, great communication skills, quick problem solver and has no problem showing her compassion to patients, co-workers, and complete strangers.
