Cathy has been my clinical nurse for the past year, working with Dr. L during my treatment for epilepsy. During this time - particularly in the past few months - med changes have required a bit of extra care and attention. Her responsiveness and compassion shown to both myself and my family has helped us get through some of the most challenging periods of our lives - epilepsy surgery, recovery, and a mental health crisis.
A few weeks ago, still recovering from epilepsy surgery and adjusting to a new seizure-free life (now over 6 months seizure free!), I had a serious, life-threatening mental health crisis. I reached out to Cathy to see if a possible recent med change might be contributing to my distress - and she reached back. It is directly because of her care and direction I was able to find the help I needed.
She was caring, knowledgeable, kind, and without judgment. Through her gentle but firm and honest words, she helped me trust her. She recognized my distress, took it seriously, and as a result, I took the action needed and am here today.
My family and I are incredibly grateful for her care. Cathy is a nurse that cares both for and about her patients. Truly a gem.
