Sometimes, those who work in the healthcare profession can forget what it is like to be a scared, overwhelmed patient or family member - but not Jessie Solis.
"When my father was first admitted, we were greeted by a warm and supportive nurse named Jessie," a patient's family member wrote in a nomination letter. "She welcomed my dad and tried to ease our worries. Her bedside manner and skill at informing family members is excellent."
After being in the hospital for several days, the patient and members of his family began to grow confused as to why he was undergoing certain procedures and tests. They appreciated how Jessie consistently stepped in to explain procedures and test results, even when she wasn't their nurse at the time.
"She took the time to talk to us, let me take notes and ease our worries. Jessie has empathy, excellent skill as a nurse and is an outstanding human being. My parents and I are very grateful for her care, concern, and support."
