My father was in the hospital for respiratory failure. Starting in the ED, ICU for 2 days and finally to the 3rd floor. He remains there as of this writing on day 9 total. Latricia has been his day nurse for his entire stay on the floor, except one off day she had. I was in the medical field for a long time and I'm currently married to an RN. I will tell you that I would not trade Latricia for anyone. I was shocked to hear that she was a 2nd-year nurse. I would've expected 20 years of service with her diagnostic skills, prioritization of duties and execution of her tasks. All of that being said, the biggest thing that separates Latricia from the pack is that she is truly an advocate for my father. She does not just perform a task as it is ordered. She evaluates the order, assesses the clinical presentation and if it is not right, she asks questions. Latricia truly treats every patient as if they are a family member. She treats the patient first, the family second and has been incredible. She gives me peace to go home and sleep because I know that he is safe in her hands. She is as detail-oriented as they come. I really cannot say enough about her. She is special with her exceptional care and big heart!
