I would like to thank my nurse, Sarah Chadwick from the Sharon Health Center.
Since I had my treatments transferred from the Seidman Cancer Center in downtown Cleveland to the Sharon Center I've had Sarah. When first starting treatments there she was just starting working there. Since then I've always had Sarah except maybe once or twice. She always makes me feel comfortable and well taken care of. She recommended to me and my husband about having my PICC line replaced with a port. I was having a severe reaction to the adhesive tape for the covering. To the point of it causing me extreme pain and even blistering my skin. She reached out to the doctor on my behalf to have this procedure done. What a difference it has made. No more daily flushes no more blistering of my skin and no more pain. It was a Godsend for me having her recommend this. She checks in on me all the time making sure I'm comfortable whether it's from a blanket or pillow to needing a snack or drink. I know it's their job to ask how I'm feeling, but Sarah always makes me feel that it's not only for medical reasons but as a caring person. She's always smiling even on days she's not 100%. If my husband or I have a question or concern she is right on top of it. Either by asking another nurse or reaching out to my doctor. If something comes up in my blood work she is right on top of it. She always seems to have my best interest at heart. She even lends a shoulder or ear when feeling down about some of the side effects my treatments give me. My treatments are now towards the end of my treatment cycle, but I know that periodically I have to have my port flushed I will specifically ask for Sarah to be the one taking care of it. I truly hope that she will get recognized for her hard work and caring ways. She truly deserves it. Thank you, Sarah!!!!
