Patrick was very caring to my mother after her surgery, which was 17 to 18 hours long. Patrick allowed my family, especially my 14-year-old son, to be a part of the caring process. Patrick gave my son step-by-step lessons on which medication they were giving my mother and what each medication was for. Patrick also showed him what every machine did and explained what it was for. The information that Patrick gave our family was very empowering, especially with one of my sisters being a nurse. The care that was provided made us all the more comfortable with providing care for my mother at home. When we return home, out of state, we will be better equipped to care for her.
