Recently, my husband and I took my father, to his doctor visit at the Salem VA Hospital. After seeing his GI doctor, we had lunch and then met with the nurse of his PCP. She recommended him going to the ER on site for his hernia. She walked us over to the area and we were seen immediately by the triage nurse. At that point, we sat in the waiting room for hours. This is where it gets good. Knowing that people were getting restless, ER Nurse Nick Moldovan came out into the waiting area and explained that the other ER had been closed and the overflow was sent there. He offered to get drinks and warm blankets and even snacks for the people waiting. He was so polite and accommodating to the people waiting in the area. I felt he went above and beyond the call of duty. He was respectful to my father who is 85 years old and even made him laugh a few times. When we were eventually called back he was our nurse there too. When he had to draw blood from my father for lab work my father commented on how well he did it and that it didn't hurt. I can't say enough about Mr. Moldovan, he is truly an exceptional nurse and performs his job with exceptional expertise. Your hospital is lucky to have him on staff.
