Lynn is someone I would consider a promoter for excellence within the Diabetes clinic. She has her hands in many different projects, including but not limited to revising our education classes, technology, and diabetes, as well as working with a national company to update an app used across the nation. She is extremely tech-savvy and has an eye for anything that will help our kiddos with their diabetes management at home. Lynn is an amazing resource and asset to the diabetes clinic and is also a resource for many of the staff here as well. Everyone is always running to her with questions, which she gladly welcomes! Parents and even patients are dedicated to her as their nurse and she is well respected across the entire healthcare team within the diabetes clinic and beyond. It is an absolute pleasure to work with someone so well accomplished and dedicated to the program.

Lynn is a valued member of our Diabetes Team. Lynn is very dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and families with diabetes. She is a resident expert on diabetes technology and is a go-to resource for nearly any question that comes up during the course of a day.
Lynn has been instrumental in partnering with Skywalk Pharmacy to increase family's access to diabetes management supplies. She recognizes that families are trying to fit the burden of a chronic condition into an already busy lifestyle and easing the process of obtaining supplies is extremely helpful.

Recognizing the changing face of healthcare, Lynn partnered with the BlueLoop team to develop and insulin dose calculator. This calculator can be accessed through the web page or a phone app and provides a safe, consistent and convenient method of calculating insulin doses. This is particularly helpful in families with limited math literacy. Lynn also helped to create a Sick Day Management phone app, which families may utilize to navigate the management of diabetes while fighting an illness at home. A mismanaged sick day can be life-threatening to individuals with diabetes, so this is an excellent tool to help keep patients safe.
In her free time, Lynn has been highly involved in both Diabetes Basketball and Soccer Camps. These events are so important to build an individual's confidence in managing diabetes during a physical activity as well as allow children with diabetes to socialize in a common environment.

Lynn is knowledgeable, thorough and dependable, and thus extremely deserving of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.
