My mother was injured in an automobile accident and when she transferred to the ICU Crystal was her nurse. When we met her, she immediately impressed us with her professionalism and compassion. Later that evening she called us to let us know that Mom was alert and to give us the opportunity to come see her. While we weren't able to get there at the time, Crystal held her hand, comforted her and stayed with her until she fell asleep again. The following day, Crystal again was incredibly empathetic, she was supportive and informative, helping us through the difficult process of choosing to end life support. Her holistic approach to both what was best for Mom and our entire family made one of the hardest days in anyone's life easier in every way she could. When we couldn't bear to stay any longer, she validated our decision, above and beyond what anyone would expect, she promised to stay with her, saying I want you to know who is with her and offered to stay after her shift if it looked close to the end. Mom wasn't cared for by a stranger, Crystal became family to us all. She personally called us with the news. We can never thank her, and the entire team enough.
