Mattie Scott is hard working, amazing and always willing to help others. One example: In January, she was coming in to work in the ED when she saw a small child running down the side of the road. Before she could pull over to help the child, he was struck, at full speed, by an oncoming vehicle. Without hesitation, the six-month pregnant nurse jumped from her car to pull him to safety, calm him down and protect his spine until EMS could arrive. Had she not been the one person to pull her vehicle over, the little boy may not have survived. We believe that Mattie is not only a hero but a godsend and an angel in disguise.
