I came in for outpatient surgery and Ladea was the best. She was being pulled in 100 different directions at once and always kept her cool. She was very apologetic for having to leave me several times but was very professional. She seemed to have been the head nurse and knew everything about everything. She is very caring and reassuring and really knows her stuff!

I have been a nurse at CMC for over 26 years. That being said, I have come into contact and worked alongside numerous peers, many whom stand out in my mind as giving above average and overly compassionate care. CMC has an outstanding staff and I have been lucky enough to remain a part of that. One of the main reasons I am still here, are my co-workers and my charge nurse, Ladea, in OPS rises to the top of that list. She not only balances the responsibility of charge nurse, an often thankless job, in a very busy and demanding unit with grace, dignity and ease, she also takes a full load of patient care responsibilities. She has outstanding communication skills with patients, families, doctors, nurses and ancillary staff. She is able to triage and prioritize with ease, all the while caring for her patients in a kind and thorough way. Her high quality care is especially evident in the interaction and care of children within OPS. She has a gift of enticing them to take medications and makes their stay here at CMC more "fun" than medical. Ladea's patients often breeze out, smiling on the way when they appeared scared and uncertain on the way in. She is highly respected by the staff, working "alongside us" rather than "demanding of us." Ladea works hard every day to give some of the best patient care I have ever seen. She is an outstanding nursing role model and she exemplifies everything a nurse should. I am proud to work with her and have her on our team. We are lucky to have her!

Ladea is our charge nurse in OPS. She works tirelessly in our unit to make sure the patients and co-workers all receive her attention and care. She leads by example always taking on more assignments and helping patients reach their goal of a safe and pleasant surgical experience. Her kindness and awareness of situations makes everyone feel important no matter the issue. Her even temper and listening skills see the patients, physicians and coworkers through the day by offering her time to any need. Ladea is a true DAISY Nurse.
