I was placed in SICU with for my last semester as a student nurse. Most of the time I worked with Martha Wydra, the nurse from the unit. I was assigned to her in my very first day of this rotation and I am so thankful that I get her as my instructor in the unit. During my time there I worked with other nurses too, but nobody was better than Martha.
For the few weeks that I worked with her, I learned more than for the whole year in my other rotations. She let me do things and taught me a lot. From the first day, she told me she likes to teach students and work with them. Each time I came to the unit she gave me such positive energy for the whole day by showing that she is happy to see me and work with me. I developed a lot of nursing skills; she gave me so many helpful tips, advice, and taught me new skills. I would like to take her as my role model. Her behavior was very professional in different situations. The lessons I learned from her are priceless for me and I will never forget it.
