I am writing to express the deep gratitude that my mother, my father, and I are feeling for the care of a special nurse, Julia Gitlin.
As I write this, my father has been a patient under Julia's care in the ICU for three days. Julia is extraordinarily attentive and friendly. Whenever my father has needed something or whenever a family member has a question, we have all learned that we need only to step outside the room and Julia is right there with answers or the help we need immediately!
Julia has been extremely friendly and patient with my father. My dad can't speak right now because of the tubes in his mouth, but he always points at her and makes a number 1 to tell her she is #1!
While we've been here, my father and mother have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. We were afraid to bring flowers or anything in as we were unsure what would be allowed in the ICU. When Julia found out that they were celebrating their anniversary, she went to the gift shop and bought things for my mother and father with her own money! Though this was absolutely not necessary for her to do, I can tell you with all sincerity that it meant so much to us!
My Dad was so grateful that Julia brought flowers, a teddy bear, chocolates, and candies and a card with a deeply loving and heartfelt message. Julia helped my dad sign his name on that card to give to my Mom. How unbelievably amazing is that? Julia is truly one special and awesome nurse.
