From the moment I arrived on floor N5 after my rotator cuff surgery, Danielle was there making sure I was comfortable as she did an assessment of my needs. She did it in a very caring way. Her smile was refreshing. We were always in conversation with each other which helped reduce my anxiety. She helped me with my lunch since I only had one free functional arm working. She was extremely busy but she still made time for me. When I rang the bell for the nurse she was always ready to help. Whether it was a need for an extra blanket, a trip to the restroom or medication. Danielle was regularly checking my vital signs and adjusting the IV drip as needed. When her shift was ending Danielle introduced me to the night nurse and let me know that she would be seeing me the next morning. As she was arriving the next morning she made sure to let me know that she was on duty again. She helped to make my discharge fast and easy. She helped me get dressed and prepared me for my trip home. She also discussed the medication that I had been given in the morning and which medicine I would need to take when I returned home. To me, she was my angel nurse. I felt she really cared about me as a person not just as a patient. Danielle always went above and beyond the call of duty. Tower Health is very fortunate to have such a dedicated nurse.
