Excellent, empathetic, and extraordinary are just a few of the words used to describe what type of nurse Sarah Vehle is. Sarah has an infectious smile and an upbeat/bubbly personality. No matter the time of day or the day of the week, Sarah is always striving to go above and beyond to meet the needs of her patients.
Recently a patient recognized Sarah for taking the time to surprise her with coffee from the coffee shop- little acts of kindness that make a large impact.
Not long ago, a patient was moved to tears because of the extraordinary effort Sarah made in making this patient feel special. This patient had been in the hospital a considerable amount of time. Sarah brought in her own items and spent a great deal of time fixing the patient's hair, applying makeup, and making her feel less like a patient and more like a person. The patient commented, 'You have no idea what that meant to me." Several of Sarah's co-workers commented on what an impact that made on them.
Various other disciplines- from dietary to the doctors, often praise Sarah's exceptional charting, attention to detail, and strong critical thinking skills.
One patient recently commented, "If I have to be in the hospital- I want Sarah to be my nurse." Sarah is a wonderful nurse and a treasured member of the Lakeside team.
