Cathy took the time to greet every family member and remembered our names, all nine of us. Answered every question in full. Took care of my sister like her own. When we took her off the ventilator, Cathy hugged those who were hurting. Her words of comfort reached us all, not to mention her own tears. I have been in every hospital in KC and St. Joe with relations and friends and this girl makes Florence Nightingale take second place.
When Cathy got off duty, she came back to the room to say goodbye and comfort each of us separately. Now to top it all off, she came back to the hospital on her day off and stopped by the room to talk to those there, then found one of the family in the hall and talked and hugged them too.
I was resting in the lounge when she found me. Put her hand on mine and asked if I was doing okay. Cathy said she was in the hospital today for her master training thing. Never have I seen anyone go to that extent to console the whole family. From the first moment we met her to the last, she was professional, but it was the extra ten miles she went that impressed me.
