My fiancé and I were in a terrible car accident at 5 pm in Currituck County heading towards Nags Head for a weekend vacation. We were hit head-on by another driver who fell asleep behind the wheel causing total loss of our vehicle. Tarra Midgette took wonderful care of my daughter and our whole family during our time at the hospital. She was so thoughtful; she knew we were from out of town and she paid for our hotel room at the Fairfield Inn right beside the hospital so we wouldn't have to drive back to our hometown of Petersburg. She turned a traumatic and chaotic day into an almost wonderful day.
Tarra went above and beyond to take extra special care of our family. She had a wonderful impact on my daughter who talks all of the time about the nurse Tarra who kept her safe and took great care of her mommy and daddy so that we could all go home together. She took care of my 91-year-old grandmother in the ED. My Nunu has 3 granddaughters that are nurses (me, my sister the CNO, and my cousin the CRNA, DNP) and my Nunu could not have been more pleased with her care from the nurse with pretty hair and warm eyes. Tarra provided outstanding care, she was present, warm and knowledgeable. I could not think of anyone better to care for my VIP.
Tarra came to work one day upset and not in a good mood. Her first patient was a lady with a headache who was scared she had a brain tumor. Tarra made a conscious decision to change her mood to help her patient feel better. Her smile, compassion, cheerfulness, and kindness helped to put her patient at ease. Taking care of patients first is what Tarra does every day. She is awesome to be around.
