Part of the reason I noticed Kaylee was that I was raised by an RN. I chuckle at this, but Mom was an old school, starched hat, white dress (and even a cape) nurse. She worked as a nurse and then as an administrator for 40 years. And Mom, the consummate professional who took a great deal of pride in her profession, would have approved of Kaylee. But I guess what I appreciated the most about Kaylee was that I really didn't need to assume the role of advocate when Dad was in her care. She cared for him and I could focus on spending time with him. Dad and I had some great conversations at his bedside that I cherish. After he left the hospital I only had a few brief conversations with Dad and due to his pain level it was not 'quality time.' I thank Kaylee for the gift of some very pleasant memories of Dad near the end of his life. Kaylee made a difference.
