Is being an Oncology nurse difficult? It can be. However, Brianne sees it as a privilege to help our patients through what is probably one of the most difficult times of their life. Her ability to connect with her patients and their families, recognizing their needs and concerns, treating the patient as a whole person and not just their cancer, that is what Brianne's care embodies. Recently a patient had this to say about her: "I'd specifically like to commend Charge Nurse Bri for exhibiting a caring professional and an "on top of things attitude". Nurses like her make us feel better psychologically, thereby contributing to our physical wellness." Brianne provides patient care for at least 2 patients while making sure the unit is running like a well-oiled machine. Teamwork is expected and everyone's role is valued and appreciated by her.
Thank you, Brianne, for being a strong patient advocate, an effective charge nurse, and a cheerleader for our team and exhibiting "Mercy in Action" every day.
