Yesterday, I had surgery at Providence to remove a kidney stone and my power port. All went very well, and I am back at work today. While everyone in preop and recovery was very nice, I want to call special attention to recovery nurse Abbie Bexley. She is a shining example of a nurse that not only loves her job but also cares deeply for her patients.
Abbie was very professional, attentive to my needs, and always had a pleasant smile, even though while I was in an anesthesia fog, I made some rather unusual requests. She is the type of nurse that puts patients at ease at a time when most patients are nervous or confused as they come out of anesthesia. So many times, we only hear complaints regarding poor service, I wanted to be sure to give praise when it is due. Abbie and the rest of the surgical team did an outstanding job!
