My Mom has been a patient 3 times in the last 3 weeks. When we came in the first time Tess was amazing. She kind of took my Mom under her wing. My Mom was really upset and scared. Tess made my Mom laugh and brought a calmness to the room. As a nurse of Riverside, I know how it can feel to be overwhelmed with patient loads and charge nurse duties, but Tess never let on that she had any other duties than my Mom. It was refreshing knowing she was our nurse.
The next time my Mom was admitted Tess was off, but she came to her room and sat with her for a while. That made my Mom so happy. The last admission Tess was her nurse again. Her attitude was the same. She was always pleasant, smiling, joking, and refreshing. She advocated for my Mom and made it so she would stay another night where she didn't feel good. Its nurses like Tess that help make sure patients like my Mom feel less afraid. I am thankful for everything she's done.
