Monica was in a patient room when she heard a loud commotion from down the hall. She ran to investigate, a patient had been hitting her walker against the wall to get attention as she was choking on food. Monica immediately performed the Heimlich maneuver and dislodged the food and saved the patient. Her quick response and knowledge saved the patient!
She is a very experienced nurse who has been at Edmonds for a long time. She is in the float pool and every unit she works on they are happy to have her! Always smiling, working hard and helping others. She has a great laugh and makes those around her in a good mood. So thankful for her quick thinking and action, she is a hero!
