Myisha has been a committed nurse to 2 south for several years. She started as a CNA and stayed in our unit after becoming an LPN. She is very attentive to her patients and consistently goes above and beyond. Myisha is often seen coming into work on her days off to visit her patients and their families. She has also been known to bring them food and treats within their diet limitations, of course!
For example, recently, Myisha came in on her day off to help feed one of her patients. The family was very excited to see her. The gentleman would not eat anything except spinach and Reese's cups, so she brought some in for him. Myisha stayed in the room to help feed the patient breakfast and visited with family.
I would also like to brag for a minute on how committed Myisha is to our work family. I have lost count how many times Myisha has come in on her day off to help with admits and discharges on the unit. She even helps babysit for some of the nurses and CNAs so they can come into work. She treats everyone with the utmost dignity and respect.
Recently, Myisha had an interaction with one of our dietitians. The dietitian was seen crying with Myisha. When staff asked if everything was ok, Myisha explained that the dietitian was overjoyed because Myisha treated her as if she "was one of us". I was told that the dietitian even brought Myisha flowers after that encounter. Myisha is a true team player and will do any and everything for our unit and our patients. She has been a true example of positive leadership to this unit, and we are so thankful to have her on 2 south!
Myisha consistently goes above and beyond without any recognition. Her hard work and selflessness have not gone unnoticed!
