Jodi Langford from 6E/6W who always is the ultimate team player and does everything she can to ensure patient care is not compromised and EVERY member of the multi-disciplinary team is supported! I want to recognize her for the difference she makes not only to patients and their families but to her co-workers and our physicians as well.
Jodi always supports us with keeping tabs on important aspects of each patient's care. Jodi has always extended herself to help coordinate discharge planning with the covering CM/SW staff. In addition, Jodi is always so clinically sound and stays ahead of us in so many ways making very meaningful contributions for patient care, especially on complex situations (i.e. complex abdominal drains, etc.). It's obvious she is always there for the nurses and a "go-to" person for questions or concerns for all of us - truly great resource.
She takes time with patients and families; she often stays over to ensure they have everything they need to successfully transition to the next level of care. I have seen her patiently individualize instruction, use interpreters to ensure understanding and include families through phone and computer access when they could not be at the bedside. She demonstrates care and compassion in every encounter.
I sincerely feel that her efforts and positive attitude make me a better doctor when I work with her on the unit and I'm sure my physician colleagues who spend a lot of time on these units feel the same way!
