The patient's unfortunate living situation and lack of resources had led to extensive wounds that required wound vacs and painful dressing changes. Her hair had become matted, as well. Both situations made her anxious, nervous and distressed. Lebourdais, armed with her own personal hair care products, spent two hours with the patient that Saturday, not only performing pain-free dressing changes but also untangling her matted hair.
