I received a grateful letter from a patient's wife who was helped by Kendra in her time of need. I was able to watch Kendra in motion on the afternoon mentioned in the letter. Kendra spent over an hour with the patient's wife and the patient, educating the wife on how to manage a home catheter. Kendra was so compassionate with the wife, who was terrified of the new item she would need to assist with in caring for her husband. Kendra reassured the patient and his wife and even gave the wife her cell phone number to call after discharge in case she needed it. Kendra called upon me for assistance with helping to calm the family and lift them with encouragement. I was able to see their interaction and conversation and felt the empathy and support given by Kendra. She is a true example of what a DAISY Nurse represents!
