Lydia joined the St. Francis Medical Center family in the spring of 2006 after making a career switch that led her to the doors of our hospital. She started as an LVN who progressively worked her way toward achieving her RN license. She is now actively pursuing her master's degree as a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Mount St. Mary's College.

Lydia is known for her enthusiasm for whatever she sets her mind to. She takes the time to contribute to her unit by being involved with various projects that improve quality of care through evidenced-based practices. She stays current with new findings and gladly shares them with her colleagues.

Lydia has been a lead charge nurse, an auditor, wound care champion, and patient advocate who won't take no for answer until all options have been explored to ensure her patients are receiving the best care and are satisfied with our services. She works with the Education Department and assists with associate education, and last but not least, she is a stroke care champion.

Lydia is a true DAISY Award Honoree who continues to demonstrate kindness, compassion, and loyalty, and who embodies the Mission, Vision, and Values of St. Francis Medical Center. We thank her for improving the lives of everyone around her.
