Her patient wishes to honor Diana's compassionate care and dedication to her profession.
I watched her give discharge instructions to a teenager after surgery that was the most thorough instructions that I have ever witnessed. The patient and family were totally engaged and understood everything because of the way Diana told them.
During leader rounding, Diana's name comes up often by her patients as being an outstanding nurse. They also love her personality, ability to make them smile and her skilled nursing care.
Recently, during the Core Survey, Diana was applauded by the surveyors for her excellent care plan documentation. Her work was shown to other facilities as the goal for others to achieve. Diana's dedication to her work and care of her patients makes her the complete nurse. She continually is on the lookout for best practices and what we can do better at Providence Mount Carmel Hospital. She has submitted a new blood tubing initiative that not only saves money but also the nurses' time when administering blood.
Diana is deserves this DAISY Award as she truly exemplifies excellence.
