When I first became a patient of Dareth Fowler, she reviewed my history and why I was at NCH. I was moved by her unconditional compassion, the depth of her professionalism and personal concern for me. Unfortunately, I have a long history in 3 states of various conditions, including cancer, surgeries, etc. It didn't take me but a few minutes to conclude that this young lady was: "WOW!".

In the afternoon of January 15, my heart stopped working again, this time twice. Although others were involved, there is no question in my mind that I never would have regained consciousness in time for emergency surgery, but for the penetrating bless of this outstanding angel. Her questions like "tell me about your wife, your three young daughters, your favorite song etc"...I
thought I had fallen out of bed and was floating in the sky...We now know otherwise...It was a matter of minutes or less, time that was an essence. After my life saving surgery, Dareth managed to visit me often, even on her own time, until I was allowed to go home. I know she serves as a role model for others.
