During my stay I had many difference nurses. Sarah showed a level of nursing above and beyond the others. Sarah was kind, nurturing, attentive and compassionate. I wish all nurses could be as wonderful as Sarah. She is one in a million.
...
Sarah showed excellent bedside manners. She was very polite and very patient in helping me with my needs. Sarah went out of her way to show me compassion. She made me feel safe and has a wonderful personality. I believe with all my heart she clearly demonstrates the qualities of the DAISY Award.
...
My husband was admitted with an acute encephalopathy and was very anxious, frightened and bewildered by all that was going on. Sarah showed remarkable calmness in working with him and I was able to reach through to him to enlist his cooperation and keep him calm in the midst of the stress. She was our day nurse for 4 of the 6 days we were at Valley and consistently showed a caring, competent attitude and skill set. She was able to enlist the help of other staff when needed and to coach them and us through different tasks each day. I was always very relieved to find her on my return each morning, knowing we were in for a, "good day." She cared for both of us in many ways e.g. hugs when needed, tea when the day grew long. We are both very grateful to have found her at our bedside in a difficult time. Thank you Sarah!
