Not all of Kaiser's angel nurses work at bedsides. Therefore, my wife and I are pleased to describe one who exceeds the criteria for the DAISY Award not once, but on several occasions. Travel Nurse Lori Peterson is the person with whom we made that special connection.
We are retired and finally in a position to fulfill life-long ambitions including travel to exotic foreign lands. To protect us from equally exotic foreign diseases we rely on Lori Petersen. Sometimes she administers to our needs on terribly short notice, but cheerfully, patiently and professionally prepares us for healthy and safe travels. She shared with us details of specific precautions to take and injects us with proper immunizations for our target countries. She cautions us accordingly, educating us in the potential perils of our destinations. If this were not enough, she does this with such pleasantness, thoroughness, and genuine professionalism, it gives us a full measure of confidence coupled with warm feelings for Kaiser Permanente in general, and Lori in particular. And, we happily add, her advice and treatments have never failed.
We are sure all DAISY recipients are extraordinary for their bedside care, but there are other unsung RNs equally deserving in recognition for outstanding service in equally important disciplines. Lori shines as one of these and is clearly deserving of this award which we unhesitatingly recommend.
