Marie is one of the "Go To" nurses of Peds Specialty. She always responds promptly to questions and concerns expressed by parents, patients and staff. She always assists when asked without question and/or complaint. She is open to any and all questions from parents/patients and staff and Never makes you feel inferior for asking. She attends the Nursing Ambulatory meetings regularly and updates the team at the nurses meeting here in Peds Specialty. She always takes the nursing students under her wing and explains the flow of the clinic. She just "gets things done". Everyone knows that they can count on Marie for whatever they ask of her. She is a leader among our group and exemplifies nursing as a whole.

I started helping with answering phones when we were shorthanded on several occasions. It was really hard to get a nurse on the phone to take a distraught parent call. It was also very surprising how many attitudes change when things get really busy. But every single time a parent called and needed help, Marie was always happy to take the call with a positive attitude. I could always feel her smiling on the phone! That attitude was contagious! It helped me stay positive in what I was doing. I want to recognize her for all her hard work and all the little things she does that make people feel well cared for-both staff and patients. She is a huge asset to her team and we appreciate her for all that she does! She teaches other nurses and medical assistants in how to "really care" for patients and it is wonderful to watch.
