My wife and I were recently in The Birth Place for the arrival of our son. We arrived at the hospital approximately 8 pm and were attended to by Bethany Otazu RN in triage. After being examined, my wife was admitted for delivery. From the moment we arrived, Bethany treated us with the utmost professionalism, courtesy, and honesty. From the very beginning, her bedside manner and her presence gave both my wife and me an extremely high degree of confidence in her abilities as well as a high level of comfort in her attentiveness. When we were moved to our room, we were very pleased to find out that she would be with us through her shift which would end at 7 am the next morning. My wife had a high level of anxiety as can be expected but Bethany took whatever time was needed to explain what was happening and answer any questions we had in a confident and compassionate manner. She seemed to have a natural ability to comfort both of us while instilling confidence that we were in good hands.

Though we did not have any negative experiences with any of the staff and felt everyone was great, this Bethany certainly stood out in our minds as the one who we seemed to measure all the others against. The only way to describe the level of care she provided, which was so far above our expectations, would be to say it was phenomenal. She is certainly an all-star nurse who we were extremely pleased to have taking care of us through this unpredictable and nervous time for our family. My wife and I both feel her abilities, the confidence she instilled in us through her care, and her naturally excellent bedside manner are to be commended at a very high level.
