I was a patient on the Bariatric Floor. Mine was not a bariatric issue but, it was the room Methodist had available for me when transferred by ambulance from Methodist Women's Hospital out near my home. I passed out at home for reasons unknown and was admitted for observation and testing regarding my syncope episode. The incident scared my wife beyond words - I was sitting in a chair next to her at home and a sick feeling overcame me and I passed out.

I had excellent care from RN's, Nurse Assistants and Phlebotomists during my short stay. However, one Nurse in particular, I want to have recognized for service above and beyond the call of duty to assist! RN Sara Kangas was my angel! She tried to have "stat" on my tests to be read by the Radiologists so I could go home quicker, which she was able to assist in doing. She also coordinated with the Methodist Cardiac Dept. to see me and to take home a portable heart arthythmia monitor for my post release medical appointment with my family doctor.

Sara was excited to help me and we shared laughter as well. I would gladly have her care for me anytime if admitted again to Methodist Hospital!! Each of us saw and shared a personal side and for that I am so thankful. I will always remember this as a warm hearted memory!
