Lynn's achievements are many, simply because of the person she is. I cannot express within the limits of this short description all of the attributes that make Lynn a true DAISY Nurse Leader. The tangibles she portrays daily are intelligence, vision, tact, diplomacy, leadership, decisiveness and responsibility. However, of greater importance would be the list of intangibles that make her the extraordinary Nurse Leader she is: caring, respectful, humility, commitment, dedication, humor, honesty, trustworthy, empathy, transparency, hard work, and resiliency.
Whether working with Nursing Informatics as a whole or with subcommittee groups, Lynn looks to find the best outcome for all involved and truly exemplifies the core values of SSM. She always sees the good side of people and encourages others to do as well, leading by example.
As healthcare becomes more and more complex, with increasing demands on Nurse Leaders, those who create an environment of compassion and recognition for others strongly deserve to be recognized themselves. Despite working under tremendous pressure, through her leadership, Lynn provides a haven of safety through work on the EHR for staff and patients, both physically and emotionally.
Nursing Informatics is a fairly large group of diverse nursing professionals representing all of SSM ministries where we are inspired by Lynn to do our very best through a shared vision and enthusiasm to achieve the greatest outcomes for our patients. Lynn's leadership not only enhances the image of the nursing profession at SSM but also throughout the community.
Over the course of several years, I have worked collaboratively with Lynn. As SSM Health St. Francis transitioned to Mosaic Medical Center Maryville I have realized the profound and positive impact the EHR makes on patient outcomes. I reflect back to our many in-person and Skype meetings with Lynn always at the table, listening, hearing, advocating, and ensuring decisions made were evidenced based. Lynn's leadership and mentoring has guided the Nursing Informatics team at SSM to be the very best and has impacted patient outcomes each and every day in many communities. This elite team has many accomplishments under Lynn's direction.
