I nominate Amber Steward for the DAISY Award because she is a valuable asset to the NICU department. Amber always gives extra attention and care to her babies and their families. She brings comfort to our patients and has a calming presence to their families, and is often requested to care for their child. Amber is very knowledgeable in her position and is a valuable resource to her co-workers when they have questions. She is always available to assist on new patients and is an outstanding team player.
After having a 25 week preterm infant, the family was scared and had many questions. Amber explained the NICU process, and helped to alleviate their fears. Amber has continued to care for this infant. Amber has been requested by this family (and many others) because of the exceptional care she provides.
