Charlotte Thompson has been one of my nurses through three pregnancies, as well as other appointments. Her professionalism, gentle & calm approach and knowledge have brought me a LOT of peace in the midst of these. Through some unknowns, I found her to be the nurse I wanted to talk to when I had questions. She was always willing to spend some time with me to help put my mind at ease or to listen. If necessary, she followed up with phone calls and explained situations thoroughly. I remember her stopping in the waiting room to ask me how I was doing...by doing this, she communicated to me that I and my pregnancy were important to her. She's awesome. :)
I appreciate Charlotte's contribution to the Women's Health Clinic and my experiences there, immensely! We even named our third daughter “Charlotte”!

Receiving this DAISY Award means a lot to me. It is an honor and a very humbling experience. I wanted to be a nurse from the time I was a young teenager. My mother and my aunt were both nurses and very proud their entire life of their chosen career. I went straight from high school into a four year nursing program. Patient care has always been my first love. I have been a nurse for over 36 years, have seen many changes , and am nearing retirement. At a time when I started to feel like I was not making much of a difference any more, to have a patient recognize the everyday things that nurses do, is a renewing experience for me. It has reminded me that every interaction with a patient does count, even though we as nurses are not always aware of the impact we have on our patients. This award, and beautiful sculpture will be a special treasure to me the rest of my life!
