Rebecca, a staff nurse in the Cardiovascular Care Unit, joined Providence Medical Center in June of 2012 as a new graduate nurse. In just eight months' time, Rebecca already consistently demonstrates the qualities that make her an outstanding DAISY nurse. She has quickly progressed from novice status through advanced beginner to competent and will, without a doubt, soon be an expert nurse. Each shift she combines exceptional critical thinking and technical skills with interpersonal skills that set her apart from the rest; in the words of her nomination, that make her "incredible!"

In her nomination the family member stated that Rebecca "wasn't a nurse who just gave meds. She answered every question my mom and each of us six children had even when we were asking the same thing. She never seemed annoyed that we weren't sharing these answers and always took the time to answer even though she had to be busy. When she came into the room, and that was often, not only did she ask my mom what she could do for her, she asked what she could do for every person in the room (and sometimes there were a lot of us) and you could tell she meant it. I can't believe she's a new nurse; she acted like she'd been at this for years. Rebecca was a star!"
