Laura Milburn is an incredible role model for all of the nursing staff that she works with. Her genuine care and concern for her patients, their families, and other members of the care delivery team is very special. When I consider relationship-based care, Laura's name immediately comes to mind. I have witnessed the very high regard that patients and other staff have for Laura. She demonstrates a high level of compassion and concern for all of her patients and fellow staff members and routinely goes above and beyond to ensure that her patients get the care that they need. The gentle approach that she uses with all interactions with patients and colleagues sets her apart from others - she walks the talk and she would be my top choice for a caregiver. She is the nurse of choice for some of our most challenging patients because of her authentically genuine nature and gentle demeanor. Laura worked very hard on preparations for the Magnet site visit and is a dedicated member of several committees at UMCB.
