Gay Ford's integrity and commitment to the veterans is showed by dealing with some who are easy going and those not so kind. She remains calm in a crisis and is happy to serve and be the advocate for us. Even though some of us are far from reality, dealing with PTSD, drugs, life crisis, she can talk to you calmly and treat you with respect, not holding a grudge even when you have a difficult day. She truly cares and understands and even takes walks in the hallways to calm vets down. She strives for excellence, always trying to make things better for the next veteran; sometimes it is the little things people do that makes all the difference. I believe Gay deals with the worst of the worst on the unit but still maintains herself as a breath of fresh air when you are in a tough situation. I truly think if more people were like Gay the world would be a better place.
