Wendy has always been a great charge nurse. She helps our total joint coordinator call patients before the surgery to see if they have any last questions. One patient she called knew he would be here during Easter. When Wendy asked if he had any questions he said I only have one, "Will the Easter bunny be showing up?" The day of the surgery she recognized his name and remembered what he said. She bought a little Easter bunny and put it in his room before he came to the room and he had the biggest smile on his face. This is not the first time she has done something like this. One of our long-term patients had her birthday here, and she bought her a pretty bracelet from the gift shop, even though she knew the patient would never remember where she got it from.
