Jim Crews took such great care of my mother two times while she dealt with knee replacement issues in Memorial. The first time was when she had her cement block put in place of her knee because of repeat infection. Mom was put through surgery late and when she came out of recovery, she was hurting, not breathing properly and looked bad, with a red face and white around the mouth.
After Jim checked her quickly, he immediately got to work calming her down, patting her arm, wiping her face and gently talking her through steadying her breathing. He finished his work and mom told me that once when she woke up in the middle of the night and he was sitting by her bed, watching her breathe to make sure she was okay.
Jim took such great care of her that I was confident that I could leave each night and that she would be safe in the night.
Weeks later, once mom was able to have her new knee replacement and we were taken to her room, everything was immediately okay because Jim was her nurse for the night. I cannot even begin to express my thanks for such a compassionate, gentle nurse. Jim is very attentive and genuinely cares about the patients. I watched him deal with my mom the first night when she was in bad shape and he never faltered. Jim was truly grace under pressure. Thank you to Jim and to Memorial for all that you do. You will always have a special place in our hearts.
