Since the very first time I spoke to Nicole Concepcion on the telephone she clearly demonstrated compassion for the injury "stroke" my brother suffered. We had spoken early morning about getting my brother admitted and said she would call me back by the end of the day. She followed through and called me back with good news that he would be admitted as soon as a bed became available.
When I met Nicole in person she showed empathy and comforted me with my emotions and the experience I was going through with my brother. I am at the VA every day with my brother and there is not a day that goes by without Nicole asking how my brother and I are doing and if there is anything she could do to make my brother's stay better. I trust that she would follow through and assist us in any way she could.
I admire Nicole's good manners and generosity; generous not in material things but in a mindset, that she wants to help people in whatever way possible. I believe Nicole is passionate about her work and the profession she chose. I never see her sitting down. I frequently see her briskly walking back and forth taking care of VA business.
Although Nicole is always busy taking care of patient needs and other assigned duties she is never too busy to stop and say hello or listen to you if you have a concern. She makes you feel like there isn't anything more important than what you have to say.
Nicole is an asset to the VA and has made my brother's stay the best possible.
